Technical Support

ERDILRF technical support

You get the engineers who calibrated the module,
not a ticket queue.

Assembly, optical alignment, calibration and final acceptance all happen in our own building in Chengdu, so a protocol question goes to somebody who has had the board in front of them. We reply within one business day (UTC+8).

01

Every model publishes its full spec table, condition by condition.

Around 30 fields per model, each carrying the measuring condition it was taken under — reflectivity, visibility, temperature band — rather than a bare number.

02

Datasheets are public; STEP files are released on request.

2D dimension drawings sit inside the model manuals. CAD is a controlled release, not a public download, and models inside a family share one file by design — LR1000E2 / LR1200E2 / LR1500E2 / LR2000E2 ship as one identical STEP, as do LRF100H / 200H / 300H / 600H / 1500H. A shared range class does not imply interchangeability: compare overall envelope, mounting details, optical alignment, connector position and tolerances before reusing an installation.

03

Working Python and Arduino drivers, open source, no SDK to license.

Explore the public drivers and their published model limitations.

Technical inquiry

Three fields get you an answer
in one reply instead of four.

  1. 01

    Identify the module.

Include the model, serial or order reference, and firmware or document revision if known.

  2. 02

    Describe the setup.

Include the supply, host connection, settings, intended object and test conditions.

  3. 03

    Show the observation.

Describe the expected and observed result. Include the symptoms and any relevant frame or error information.

The four questions support actually gets.

What warranty and support do you provide?

Support: direct, from the engineers who calibrate the modules, within one business day (Chengdu, UTC+8).

Not published: the warranty period. Every competitor you are comparing us against states a period publicly and we currently do not, which is a gap on our side rather than a policy. The warranty, return eligibility and support scope that apply to your order are in your written quotation — ask for them before you place it, and hold us to them.

What happens if a unit arrives defective or fails in the field?

Contact us with the model, serial or order reference, symptoms and test conditions. The next steps, return arrangements and repair or replacement terms will be reviewed against your order and confirmed in writing. Please agree the return arrangements before shipping the unit.

What documentation ships with a sample or production order?

Datasheets are public, the 2D dimension drawings sit inside the model manuals, and the STEP file is released on request rather than as a public download. Check the downloads on the individual model page and list any additional documentation or accessories required for evaluation. Confirm which manual revision, protocol information, software and cables are included with the order rather than assuming a common sample package.

Who do I talk to for technical support after I've integrated a module?

Contact Tommy Yu through the inquiry form or tommy@erdimail.com. Include the model, order reference, firmware or document revision if known, the issue and test conditions. The applicable support scope follows the written terms for your order.

Send a model number and a distance. We will tell you what else we need.

Share the distance, object surface, interface, space constraints and quantity. Include a model number if you already have one in mind.

Confirm the current datasheet and laser safety documentation for the specific model and revision. Final suitability depends on your complete device and its operating conditions. Every Class 1 designation in this catalog is a manufacturer declaration from the model manual. No third-party IEC 60825-1 classification report exists, and the class of your finished equipment is assessed separately.
