905 nm UART Laser Rangefinder Modules for OEM Integration

A 905 nm UART laser rangefinder module gives an OEM host a serial distance reading, but electrical and protocol details remain model specific. Compare the range, target conditions, supply and mass below. Confirm logic voltage, enable behavior, frame format, checksum and invalid readings before connecting a sample to your controller.

Compare three documented 905 nm options

905 nm UART module comparison
Model / wavelength Published range and conditions Module mass Serial interface Supply Published power
SPD1200N2
905 nm
0.2–1,200 m; target and ambient conditions require confirmation ≤ 5 g UART-TTL 3.3–5 V Average ≈ 0.45 W · max ≤ 0.75 W
LR1000E2
905 nm
4–1,000 m; actual reach depends on target and environment ≤ 10 g UART-TTL 3.3–5 V Short-range < 0.6 W · max ≤ 1 W
LRF3000A1
905 nm
≥ 3,000 m @ 70% reflectivity, building target (clear weather, visibility ≥ 4 km) 12 ± 0.5 g UART (TTL 3.3 V) DC 3.3–5 V ≤1.8 W at +25 °C; check peak demand separately

Read each range with its target conditions. Module mass excludes the host assembly. Average power does not define peak rail demand. Open the exact model for its controlled documents and interactive 3D view.

UART is only part of the interface

Confirm the UART logic level separately from the power input. Match transmit and receive pins, ground, enable polarity and connector orientation using the delivered unit’s drawing. Use the exact protocol’s distance units, frame length, checksum scope and failure response.

SPD1200N2 source records disagree on the lower bound of its adaptive output frequency. LRF3000A1 documentation distinguishes transmit and receive checksum scopes. Do not select a convenient value or reuse a parser across families without checking its documented behavior.

Prepare an OEM evaluation

  • Supply a target description, measurement distances, lighting and visibility.
  • State the host rail, serial logic level, available space and output timing requirement.
  • Request the controlled drawing, protocol revision and sample configuration.
  • Check integrator resources and compare the OEM / ODM review process.

Engineering and purchasing questions

Which 905 nm modules have a documented UART interface?

SPD1200N2 and LR1000E2 list UART-TTL; LRF3000A1 lists UART with 3.3 V TTL logic. Read each model’s power and pin definitions separately. A supply range does not establish tolerance of the serial inputs.

Can one UART parser read every model?

Do not assume that it can. Frame format, distance units, checksum scope and invalid-reading codes are model specific. SPD1200N2 also has an unresolved source frequency lower-bound discrepancy. Confirm the delivered configuration and use the corresponding protocol documentation.

Where can I get a datasheet or serial driver?

Open technical downloads for the exact model, driver resources and the ErdiTech driver repository for supported protocol families. Confirm the module, firmware, connector and logic voltage before using a driver. Documentation availability does not establish flight-controller compatibility.

What are the sample quantity and lead time?

Send your model, quantity, configuration and evaluation requirements. Sample terms, order quantity, pricing and lead time are confirmed in writing. An inquiry does not reserve stock or establish a delivery date.

Request a sample or an engineering review
