LRF22VB · 905 nm Single-Point LiDAR Sensor

LRF22VB Arduino library and example sketch

The Arduino library in erdi-lrf-drivers decodes the LRF22VB frame (4 B / 2 B at 460800 baud) and returns the distance in mm. Use a hardware serial port; SoftwareSerial is not reliable at this rate.

Wiring

LRF22VB TX → Arduino RX1, RX → TX1, GND → GND, supply 3–3.6 V DC. Interface level: UART/IIC; check the level before connecting a 5 V board.

Example sketch

#include <ErdiLRF.h>
ERDI_LRF22VB lrf(Serial1);   // LRF22VB

void setup() {
  Serial.begin(115200);
  Serial1.begin(460800);
  lrf.begin();
}

void loop() {
  if (lrf.readSingle()) {
    Serial.println(lrf.distanceMeters());
  }
  delay(100);
}

FAQ

What is the maximum range of the LRF22VB?

The published range is 0.05–20 m (90% reflectivity); 0.05–10 m (10% reflectivity) (The two source values remain bound to their stated target reflectivity.). A range figure is only comparable together with the target and conditions it was measured on, so the condition is listed next to the value.

Which interface does the LRF22VB use?

The published communication interface is UART/IIC.

What laser wavelength does the LRF22VB use?

The published wavelength is 905 nm; laser safety entry: Class 1.

How much does the LRF22VB cost?

The published single-unit price of the LRF22VB is $12, falling to $8 per unit at the largest published quantity band. Prices include shipping and are ordered directly from erdilrf.com.
